Kranti Kanadé, is a national award winning filmmaker. He has studied filmmaking at UCLA and FTII. Kranti’s debut feature film MAHEK won awards around the world and was also included in the curriculum at Otterbein College, one of the oldest universities in the US. His student short CHAITRA won Five National Film Awards becoming India’s official entry to Student Academy Awards.
His recent release CRD was critically acclaimed in US and received rave reviews by Los Angeles Times, Hollywood Reporter, LA Weekly, Screen Anarchy and others. It was shown as part of studies at the prestigious US film schools USC and UCLA as well as FTII and NFAI in India.
Kranti’s next release is Gandhi Of The Month with legendary Hollywood actor Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Taxi Driver, Youth). It’s about a secular expat American schoolmaster in India struggling to protect his students from fundamentalists.
He is also an Entrepreneur, Tree Planter, and a co-founder of an NGO for the destitute that has rehabilitated more than 300 children.

He directed his first marathi feature film ‘Suryodaya’ starring Nana Patekar, Deepti Naval, Neelu Phule, Shriram Lagoo & Mohan Agashe. The film not only won critical acclaim in national and international media but also went on to win the state award and was specially screened in the ‘Indian panorama’, where it was appreciated by the great Indian director Satyajit Ray in 1990 at Kolkata.
His Hindi feature film directorial debut began with the film ‘Lal Salaam’ starring Nandita Das , Sharad Kapoor, Sayaji Shinde, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raj & Rakhee Sawant.
